How to Create Vista Style Ubuntu Wallpaper in Photoshop

Today, we are going to learn about how to vista style ubuntu wallpaper in Photoshop. Follow these simple steps to create this wallpaper. First create one blank document in Photoshop with 1440×900 pixels. I am opted this dimension according to my laptop. You are free to choose your own dimension.

STEP 1

Create new layer using Ctrl + Shift + N.

Choose #7a340a colour as background colour, select paint bucket tool (G) & fill the colour in the layer.

STEP 2

Download the following image.

I have used this image for creating some blurry effect. Open this image in Photoshop, copy (Ctrl + C) & paste (Ctrl +P) in your PSD file.

STEP 3

Apply Gaussian Blur (Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur) effect on select image with 100px radius.

Create colour balance layer with following properties.

STEP 4

Now we are going to create some spark line. Select Elliptical Marquee Tool & draw like following.

Create a new layer, select brush tool & select white as foreground colour. Move your brush inner edges of curved selection & draw it like following.

Select Overlay blending mode for current layer.

STEP 5

Got to Edit -> Free Transform (Ctrl + T), rotate like make it following

STEP 6

Repeat Step 5 four more times to make it like following

STEP 7

Download “ubuntu-title” font & logo from the following links

Click here download ubuntu logo

STEP 8

Install downloaded ubuntu font in your system, type ubuntu with “Ubuntu-Title” font family , font-size 120px, any colour. Apply following blending options on this text layer.

STEP 9

Open downloaded ubuntu logo image in Photoshop, copy (Ctrl + C) & paste (Ctrl +P) in your PSD file. Apply the following blending options on ubuntu logo layer.

STEP 10

Here, your Vista style ubuntu wallpaper is ready to set as desktop background.
